Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Loading and offloading of vehicles and general sortation of consignments
  • Accurate checking of items out for delivery on the HHT and reporting of any discrepancies to your line Manager
  • Complete vehicle checks and report any problems
  • Complete deliveries and collections throughout the day in a timely manner whilst adhering to company standards and health & safety procedures. Expectation of 60-100 per day dependent on route area.
  • End of day – return to depot, unload and labelling of non-deliveries and ensure all deliveries are accounted for on the HHT
  • Driver debrief with Manager on duty
  • Ensure vehicle is cleaned and refuelled for next day
  • Compliance with delivery and collection key performance indicators


 

Personal Specification

 

  • Previous experience of 60+ multi drop deliveries per day preferred but not essential
  • Excellent geographical knowledge of the area
  • Good time keeping
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Confident in dealing with people on the phone and in person
  • Ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative

  • To ensure that the high visibility PPE is always worn in vehicle movement areas.
  • To ensure that speed limits are observed within bus depots and school premises.

  • ensuring that any defect in the vehicle or equipment is reported as soon as possible to the right person.
